About Me

Hi there. My name is Melissa, but almost everyone online calls me "Bee." I'm 28 years old and, as you can probably tell by some of the stuff on the menu to the right, I'm a geek.

I was introduced to comics and graphic novels thanks to Maus by Art Spiegelman and Watchmen by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons. Since then, I've become a little obsessed. I can't believe that I spent 27 years of my life without them, to be honest! Some of my favorite characters are Cable, Deadpool, Nite Owl I, The Question (both Vic Sage and Renee Montoya), Rorschach, Silk Spectre II, Swamp Thing (Alan Moore's run mostly, though), Taskmaster, Two-Face (Harvey Dent), and V (V from Vendetta). I'm always up for recommendations!

I don't have a lot of free time, but what I do have is generally spent reading, traveling, writing, or on the computer. I also spend far too much time (and money) on Amazon and eBay. I think I need a trial separation. ;)

I also like movies, and I wish I had more time to watch them! I enjoy comic book adapatations, action movies, some horror (I'm a bit tired of the "boobs and stab" gorefests, though), and historical ones. The only movies I tend not to enjoy are "chick flicks."

I watch practically no TV, but I love my [adult swim] DVD collections, as well as Ren & Stimpy, the old episodes of The Twilight Zone, Tales from the Crypt, and Dexter.
